The WITH Room

Reading-with, practicing-with, thinking-with: spaces for noticing, thinking, and making meaning in the company of others.

When a drop of water is placed in the ocean, its boundary is redefined. Has it dissolved, dilated, or diverged?

We are always with, even when we’re alone: with the voices, languages, and histories we carry. Together, that “other” comes into view, and others reflect back to us what we couldn’t see on our own.

Something similar happens when an idea, perception, text, bodily response, or unfinished thought is placed in relation to others. It gets echoed, diverted, sharpened, contradicted, extended.

Wind turbines standing on a grassy plain, against a blue sky.

The presence of another changes what becomes available to notice. Each perspective alters the field in which the others are perceived.

A reflective space makes room for this alteration without requiring resolution.

The forms change. The underlying question remains: what becomes perceptible when we create the conditions to notice together but differently?
