where clinical voice becomes uniquely your own

Artists enter residencies to deepen their relationship with their craft.
What might a residency look like for therapists?
The Third offers just that – a space to cultivate clinical imagination and transform years of learning into a signature way of practicing.
The Third is a seasonal therapist residency.
Therapists spend years learning from teachers, theories, training programs, and supervisors.
Eventually, a different question begins to emerge:
What is becoming uniquely mine?
How do years of study, clinical experience, personal history, and relational encounters become an authentic, distinctive clinical voice.
The Third exists for this stage of development.
Reading as Thinking-with
The primary vessel of The Third is a seasonal reading circle.
We read not to accumulate knowledge, but to let texts move through us – to disturb, to deepen, and to quietly recalibrate our clinical imagination.
It’s a space for thinking-with, where theory, experience, dialogue remain in conversation with one another.

If you are wondering…
What can I expect?
The Third is intentionally small. Fixed cohort, invitation-based participation, no recordings, Mandarin/English bilingual field, slow rhythm.
The emphasis is on presence, reflection, and the gradual development of one’s own clinical stance.
Is it a good fit for me?
You may feel at home here if:
– you have spent years learning from different theories, teachers, and trainings
– you long for conversations that open something deeper than the text itself
– you are interested in developing your own clinical voice rather than adopting someone else’s
– you are looking for a space where inquiry matters more than certainty
